Hot Stamping DG Coating Machine About

The Hot Stamping DG Coating Machine is designed for precision coating of PET carrier film and metallized polyester film used in manufacturing hot-stamping and decorative transfer foils. DG refers to the direct-gravure coating process, in which an engraved gravure roller transfers a controlled quantity of coating material onto the moving film.
Depending on the approved configuration, the machine can apply release coating, colour lacquer, protective coating and heat-activated adhesive in separate production passes or through multiple inline coating stations. Each coated layer is passed through a controlled hot-air drying chamber before the film is rewound.
The machine combines precision gravure coating, automatic web-tension control, edge guiding, multi-zone drying, solvent exhaust and uniform rewinding. The resulting coated foil can be used for decorative stamping on paper, paperboard, plastic, leather, textiles and other compatible surfaces.

Typical Hot-Stamping Foil Structure

A standard hot-stamping foil may contain the following functional layers:

PET carrier film
Release coating
Colour or protective lacquer
Metallized layer, when required
Heat-activated adhesive coating

The exact number and sequence of layers depend on the finished foil application. Metallization is normally performed using separate vacuum-metallizing equipment unless an already-metallized PET film is used.
